B1 · 17. Cümleleri birleştirmek
17.2 although, however, despite
• although + cümle → Although it was raining, we went out.
• despite / in spite of + isim veya -ing → Despite the rain, we went out.
• however + yeni cümle → It was raining. However, we went out.
Türkçeden gelen tek kalıp bunları birbirine karıştırıyor ve en sık hata şu: despite'ın arkasına cümle koymak. "Despite it was raining" ✗.
It's good, though." Bu çok yaygın ve doğal duyuluyor.
Although it was raining, we went out.
We went out although it was raining.
Sonda da olabiliyor.
Although she was tired, she kept working.
Even though it was expensive, I bought it.
even though daha güçlü.
Though it's small, it's comfortable.
though günlük ve daha kısa.
despite ve in spite of: arkasına isim

Despite it was raining, we went out.
Despite the rain, we went out.
In spite of the cost, I bought it.

despite tek başına; in spite OF ise of alıyor.
despite the fact that: köprü
Despite the fact that it was raining, we went out.
Although it was raining, we went out.
Aynı anlam, daha kısa.
In spite of the fact that he's young, he's very experienced.
however: ayrı cümle
however iki cümleyi bağlamıyor; kendi cümlesinin başında duruyor ve arkasına virgül alıyor.
however ile but aynı işi yapıyor ama kaydı farklı: but cümle içinde ve günlük, however cümle başında ve resmi. Konuşmada however kullanmak kitap gibi duyuluyor — orada but ya da though daha doğal.
It was raining. However, we went out.
It was raining, however we went out.
It was raining. However, we went out.
The film was long. However, it was interesting.
We went out, however, it was raining.
