B1 · 14. Edatlar ve phrasal verb'ler
14.2 Hareket edatları: into, onto, through
• I'm in the room. (duruyorum)
• I went into the room. (girdim)
Hata şöyle çıkıyor: Türkçe konuşan kişi "in"i öğreniyor, sonra hareket cümlelerinde de onu kullanıyor — "I went in the room". Bu duyulur ama bulanık; "into" hareketi açıkça gösteriyor.
İkinci ve daha sık hata: to'yu düşürmek. Türkçede "okula gittim" derken yön eki fiile değil isme yapışıyor, İngilizcede ayrı kelime: "I went to school".
"Arrive to" yanlış, "arrive at/in" doğru — bunlar kalıp.
in the box → into the box
içinde → içine
on the table → onto the table
üstünde → üstüne
at home → to home ✗
Burası kuralsız: "go home" — edat almıyor.
She's in the car.
Duruyor.
She got into the car.
Bindi — hareket.
to: en çok düşen kelime
Bir yere gidiyorsan to zorunlu. Türkçede ek olduğu için İngilizcede atlanıyor.
home, abroad, here, there, upstairs to almıyor. "Go to home" hatası, kuralı öğrendikten sonra artıyor — kuralı her yere uygulamaktan.
I go school every day.
I go to school every day.
We went Istanbul.
We went to Istanbul.
I'm going to the bank.
go home / go abroad / go upstairs
Bu üçü to almıyor — kalıp.
I went to home.
I went home.
I arrived to Ankara.
I arrived in Ankara.
Şehir, ülke → in.
I arrived at the airport.
Nokta yer → at.
He entered to the room.
He entered the room.
enter edat almıyor.
We reached to the top.
We reached the top.
reach de almıyor.
Yol ve geçiş: through, across, along, over
Hareketin nasıl bir yol izlediğini anlatıyorlar. Dördü de farklı bir geometri çiziyor.
through ile across farkı: through bir şeyin içinden (orman, tünel, kalabalık), across bir şeyin üstünden karşıya (yol, nehir, oda). "Across the forest" ormanın üstünden uçtuğun anlamına gelir.
through the tunnel
İçinden geçerek — üç boyutlu.
across the road
Bir yüzeyi karşıdan karşıya.
along the river
Boyunca — paralel.
over the bridge
Üstünden.
We walked through the forest and across the field.
Yön ve çıkış: from, out of, off, towards
Hareketin başlangıcını ve ayrılışını gösteriyorlar — in/on edatlarının karşıtları.
from Istanbul to Ankara
Başlangıç → varış.
He came out of the room.
into'nun karşıtı.
She got off the bus.
onto'nun karşıtı — otobüs, tren için off.
She got out of the car.
Araba için out of.
He walked towards me.
Bana doğru — ulaşmış olmak gerekmiyor.
up, down, back
Come up / go down / go back
I'll be back in ten minutes.
She ran up the stairs.
I'll come back to home.
I'll come back home.
Kendini sına
Cevabı görmeden önce kendin kur.
Hatayı bul: "I go gym three times a week."
I go to the gym three times a week.
Yön → to; Türkçede ek olduğu için düşüyor.
Hatayı bul: "I went to home early."
I went home early.
home, abroad, here, there to almıyor.
Hatayı bul: "We arrived to the hotel at 9."
We arrived at the hotel at 9.
arrive at (nokta) ya da arrive in (şehir) — to değil.
through mu across mı: "We walked ___ the forest."
through the forest
İçinden geçiyoruz → through.
